- 12 slices white bread (trim crust (optional))
- softened butter
- 1 pound crumbled, fried sausage (drained)
- 6 slices cheese (I use Velveeta sliced cheese)
- 5 large eggs
- 3 cups milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Grease 8×12″ baking dish with butter or cooking spray. Preheat oven to 350°.
- Butter 6 slices of bread and place buttered side up on bottom of greased baking dish.
- Put a slice of cheese on each slice of bread.
- Put cooked sausage on top of cheese.
- Top with 6 more buttered bread as for bottom.
- Beat eggs, milk, and salt in blender. Pour over bread, cheese and sausage combination.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350° for 50 minutes uncovered. Top will brown during baking.
